Blue Hole

Ocho Rios, Jamaica:

Took some time to get here from Montego Bay but it was worth the trek!!

Nestled in the crevices and mountains of Jamaica, the Blue Hole is considered an unofficial tourist attraction however that shouldn't deter your visit!! It was a stunning and even if you don't do any of the jumps, just the sights and hue of the water alone is enough to keep your attention!

For our group, we started with the shorter areas of the falls and did a few short jumps. This placed peeked our interest so much that we ended up doing the swinging rope drop and also ventured inside of the caves. It was truly a memorable, once in a lifetime experience. We were outfitted with life vests before getting near the water and the guides here were very helpful in ensuring we were comfortable during our visit. I can honestly say, if I had known how deep the water truly was, I probably would not have jumped since I am a non-swimmer but the life vests are definitely a must. Don't let the water trick you into thinking that it's not deep because some areas of it are!

This was such a fun time! Though I still have nightmares about this excursion, if I had to do it over again I would NOT! If you are a swimmer (which I nor were none of my friends), then by all means this will probably not result in post anxiety years later but the way my arms & legs are setup, they don't work well to navigate water!

Nevertheless, this excursion was complete with adrenaline filled cliff jumps, beautiful waterfalls, and lush greenery to complete the scene.

All in all, I give this excursion a 10! There is nothing that was missing from this off site activity and I would definitely visit again to share the experience with others that maybe interested. I would love to show this place off to my family members that have never been.
