San Diego, CA
Lou & Mickey's
Our first dinner spot and boy was it a hit. Of course, it was my selection but someone else tried to take credit. Nope - not for this one. Here is where we had the best steaks, like ever. Seems like I say that on all my posts, lol but these were the absolute truth. I had a surf and turf with a filet and a lobster tail. I could not even believe how good they both were. Honestly, it was unexpected for us both. Do not pass this place up in you are close by. It was casual but delivered top notch service and food. A must try when visiting the area.
Paul Walker's Pancake House
Next in line was breakfast at Paul Walker's Pancake House. Yes this was my pick and it was confirmed as a hit from the concierge at the hotel. It was a quick walk and despite my photos not being the best, the food was seriously delicious. Thomas had pancakes (mounds were served and all were not able to be consumed, lol) and I had scrambled eggs with cheese and corn beef hash (yes, still country).
La Puerta
On this day, we were supposed to eat a light lunch so we can make our dinner reservations as it was already planned and reserved. Instead, we ended up lunching at this incredible Mexican join in the Gaslamp district. When I say goodddt! Whew! Some of the best I've had and I mean that! Besides the food, this place was so authentic! The walls were plastered
Besides the food, this place was so authentic! The walls were plastered with the mugshots of famous musicians! I saw pictures that I didn't know existed and many that I have seen before. The checkout clipboard was a photo of Pac expressing thanks! I mean you could not get better than that lol!!
Litte Italy
Despite not spending a great deal of time here, it was still one of my favorite spots to visit. I was so looking forward to snagging some good italian food, wine or even pizza but leave it to a man to select a fried chicken spot in the middle of all these great italian selections! Either way, it wasn't a complete bust since the food was good but if I had to do it all over again, we would be dining somewhere else. We hit this location up on Saturday right before noon and the most of the outside dining patios were filled with patrons having just a great old time as they should. It was here that I found this big ass Stella Artois chair so you know I had to snag a pic since it's literally one of my favorite beers.
Gaslamp District
Here is where the bustle is. Is that right to say? Either way, I am going with it. This is what I would call the center of attention. Here is where we found just about anything we were looking for - dining, entertainment, shopping (sneaker stores, cough cough), the baseball stadium, and was right by the San Diego Convention Center. During the day, the streets were not that busy at all but at night, whewww did it wake all the way up or what!! So lively and so much fun to visit. Here we found several spots that we hit up for a good time including our top fave - Gran Havana!
