Riviera Maya, Mexico:
Can't say anything bad about this resort! My goodness and to date, it is among my top 5. Beautiful grounds, mounds of activities to keep me busy and food that was impeccable! I just can't wait to return and enjoy this beautiful property again.
We had connecting flights from Columbia, SC (CAE) through Charlotte, NC (CLT) to Cancun, Mexico (CUN). Headed to Cancun, the flights were easy breezy. Returning, not so much but this post is not about that! It's all about this fabulous resort UNICO 20.87 located in the Riviera Maya!
Our drive from CUN was approximately 45 minutes and to my surprise this part of Mexico was pretty well modernized. The roads taken were all paved and safety on the drive was never a concern.
Upon arrival, you enter one impeccable hotel lobby and of course greeted with a welcome cocktail! 5 stars already and we haven't even seen the rooms! :-)
Check-in was a breeze and from there, we were escorted to our suite. The walk to our room was a trek but we realized that it was a well sized property and for the view we needed for vacation and because of how the property is constructed, we were left with no other option. It all worked to our benefit in the end.
When the doors opened, we were extremely pleased. Our room was well designed and was aesthetically pleasing. The balcony was a good size and came equipped with an outdoor tub!! SWOOOOON! We were in love. The mini-fridge was stocked with a nice selection of drinks to wake us up and keep us moving until we made it to the pool.
The past few trips we have taken the ‘all inclusive’ route. While I have heard the stories from the not so best performing resorts, I must say UNICO 20.87 is not one that I could ever imagine being on any such list! It was an absolute dream! This is one of those places that when I left, I whispered to myself ‘I have to come back.’ It rarely happens but for this resort, I must have a do over and only because it was just that GOODT!!
